Maryam Moinfar, M.D. was named “Woman of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare, 2009” and is a native of Orange County. She is both a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon that understands the importance of healthy and radiant skin. Her areas of expertise include Mohs Microscopic Surgery, surgical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Moinfar attended the prestigious University of California, Berkley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology and graduated at the top of her class. She has continued her education at Northwestern University Medical School, where she received her medical degree. A high achiever, Maryam Moinfar, M.D graduated from both institutions with honors including the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Award. With passion and expertise, Maryam Moinfar, M.D. boldly heads our team of physicians in her drive to unite high-level academic medicine with cutting-edge technologies to make the team at Advanced Dermatology the go-to for any and all dermatological needs; with particular attention to skin cancer prevention and treatment. She is an active member of the local medical community and is the Dermatologist fellow doctors go to when they need care. Maryam Moinfar, M.D. has a passion for medicine and enjoys mentoring future medical professionals. Dr. Moinfar is a proud mother and wife. She enjoys spending time with her family and putting a smile on people’s faces. Dr. Moinfar is gladly accepting new patients and takes pride in providing a high level of care. She is a member of the American Board of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatology Society.

Jeffrey Lander, M.D., Ph.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon accepting new patients and referrals. Dr. Lander is a native of Southern California. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at UC, Irvine before completing his medical school and dermatology residency from the University of Minnesota. He has completed an additional one-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology for in-office skin cancer surgery and reconstruction. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology) and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, and American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Due to his level of expertise, he heads the Mohs Microscopic Surgery department within our practice and is highly experienced in making sure your skin maintains healthy and vigorous. He has wonderful bedside manners and his calming demeanor helps to soothe and put his patient’s mind at rest.

Kristen Aguirre, M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic surgeon, as well as an Orange County local, born and raised in San Clemente. After graduating with High Honors from The University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, she returned to Orange County, where she performed extensive research on the spread of MRSA and other skin infections. She then headed out to Columbus, Ohio where she graduated Magna Cume Laude while obtaining her MD at The Ohio State University. It was there, while helping run a local free clinic, that she discovered her love for dermatology. She expanded her Ohio State dermatology training with time spent at UT Southwest in Dallas, TX, as well as time spent at the UC Davis Department of Dermatology. After graduation, she completed her Internal Medicine training at Cottage hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. Finally, she completed three additional years of advanced dermatologic training at UC Irvine, where she served as the Resident Director of Surgical and Cosmetic training. She also received the Resident Teacher of the Year award. She has worked with some of the world’s experts in aesthetic dermatology, laser science, complicated medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery. She also received advanced training in surgical reconstruction at UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC San Francisco, and Santa Barbara, CA. When outside of the clinic, she is a loving wife and mother of two. She and her family love to spend time cooking together, playing in the vegetable garden, and exploring all of the different parks and playgrounds in the area.
